FOLSC presents Bristol’s ‘Opera in a Box’ performing Hansel and Gretel on Saturday 29th June .

On Saturday 29th June we are offering a fantastic evening of live Opera and no need to go to Glyndebourne for this one, as the performance will be right here in Long Sutton’s Village Hall! What better way to celebrate the arrival of midsummer? Hansel and Gretel, first performed in December 1893, was composed by Engelbert Humperdinck, and retells the timeless fairy tale of two siblings lost in the forest. Follow Hansel and Gretel as they discover a house made of gingerbread and fall into the clutches of a wicked witch. There will be a talented ensemble of musicians, artists, and a top-notch production team, who will deliver a fully staged experience as part of a tour of just eight contrasting venues, and we are delighted to be one of these. Immerse yourselves in the magic of opera with Bristol’s ‘Opera in a Box’. We invite you to join us for a delightful performance, sung in English, and perfect for audiences of all ages. Experience an unforgettable evening of opera that we are assured will leave you spellbound!
